AND THE GREEN TRANSISTION
Tape & Edge Protectors
Companies seeking to reduce the environmental
and climate footprint of their packaging
consumption can often achieve improvements by
focusing on products used in large volumes in daily
operations. Tape is an example of a product where
adjustments in material thickness, material
selection, and recycled content can have an
impact over time. STOK therefore works with
several speci昀椀c tape and plastic-based solutions
focusing on material reduction, increased use of
recycled plastic, and improved documentation of
climate effects.
BOPP Tape with Recycled Plastic (PIR)
STOK offers BOPP tape produced with 50%, 80%,
and up to 100% post‑industrial recycled plastic
(PIR). CO₂ calculations are currently being
prepared, comparing these variants with
conventional tape based on virgin plastic, with
the aim of increasing transparency regarding the
climate effects of alternative material choices.
Airtape – Reduced Material Consumption
Airtape is a BOPP tape that has been modi昀椀ed and
stretched in both directions, reducing
material thickness from 28 microns to 19 microns.
The reduced thickness results in lower plastic
consumption per roll and creates potential for
reduced environmental impact. Airtape forms part
of STOK’s ongoing assessment of more
resource-ef昀椀cient tape solutions and has not yet
been actively marketed.

Edge Protectors Made From 100% Recycled
Plastic
As a supplement to tape solutions STOK offers
plastic‑based edge protectors manufactured from
100% recycled PE. As a result of developments
related to extended producer responsibility (EPR),
the manufacturer has chosen to phase out the use
of carbon black, meaning that the products are now
supplied in various colors. This change supports
improved sorting and recyclability within the waste
stream.
Thorpal Pallet – 100% Recycled
A pallet consisting of 100% recycled material
produced in Denmark has, in recent years, replaced
comparable products from abroad within STOK’s
product range.
The Thorpal MV plastic pallet has the same
dimensions as a EUR pallet. However, as it is
made of plastic, it can be reused more times than a
wooden pallet, and as it does not splinter, it is suit‑
able for transporting packaged food products.
STOK distributes the pallet as it is considered a
suitable product that can support customers in their
climate accounting.
As the pallet is produced in Denmark,
additional pallets can be sourced when needed
without reliance on suppliers outside national
borders.
