SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
IN PRACTICE
The social dimension of ESG forms an
integrated part of STOK Group’s approach to
conducting business. Many initiatives related to
social matters have not been established as formal
programs or strategic initiatives but have
developed organically as part of the company’s
culture, values and management practices. Social
responsibility is therefore not a new focus area, but
rather a gradual formalization of existing practices
within the organisation.
Historically, these practices have often been
site-speci昀椀c or driven by individual initiatives. As
part of the Group’s ongoing ESG work, STOK is
now working to map these existing efforts and
assess which initiatives can be further formalised
and, where relevant, rolled out more broadly
across the Group.
Across STOK Group, there are several concrete
examples of how consideration for people,
relationships and local engagement plays a central
role in daily operations. This applies to everyday
activities, employee management and interactions
with customers and local communities. The
following case illustrates how STOK’s approach to
social matters is expressed in practice, as a natural
extension of the Group’s culture and way of
operating.
Warehouse Operations in Denmark
At the warehouse at STOK Emballage,
management approach and views on people play a
central role in daily operations. Over several years,
the warehouse manager has worked
systematically to offer individuals who have
previously been outside the labour market a
concrete opportunity to gain stability and
attachment to working life.
The approach is based on clear frameworks,
de昀椀ned tasks, and a gradual increase in
responsibilities and working hours as employees
become more con昀椀dent in their roles.

This practice is not organised as a separate
project, but forms an integrated part of the
warehouse culture, where trust, structure and
responsibility are key elements. The case
illustrates how social responsibility can be
applied in daily operations and contribute to
employee well‑being, stability and long‑term
value creation.
Culture for Remote Work
At STOK Emballage, a 昀氀exible approach to
remote work has been established, based on
trust, responsibility, and consideration for a
sound working environment. The guidelines for
remote work are described in the company’s
employee handbook and cover both the
employees’ responsibilities and the company’s
obligation to support a healthy and safe working
environment, also when work is performed from
home.
STOK Emballage provides relevant work
equipment, including monitors, keyboards, and
other necessary IT equipment, and emphasizes
that work must be carried out in a responsible
manner in compliance with applicable
occupational health and safety requirements. If
this is not possible from the employee’s home,
the employee is expected to perform the work
from one of STOK’s locations. Remote work is
therefore regarded as a 昀氀exible option that
presupposes dialogue, responsibility, and
ongoing assessment of the working
environment.
The practice currently applied at STOK
Emballage also serves as a point of departure
for identifying a shared reference point at group
level. As STOK Group continues to develop,
work is ongoing to consolidate experience
and principles from the existing remote work
framework, with the aim of supporting a more
consistent, yet still 昀氀exible, approach across the
Group.
