SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
IN PRACTICE
From Trainee to Managing Director in
Greenland
STOK supports internal career development
through long‑term career pathways and
learning through responsibility. One example
is Jakob, the Managing Director/CEO of STOK’s
operations in Greenland, who started his
career in the company as a trainee.
Over time, Jakob progressed through different
parts of the organisation and gradually
assumed greater responsibility. His career
development re昀氀ects STOK’s approach to
employee growth, where trust, continuity and
practical learning play a central role.
Based on his own experience, Jakob has
expressed a clear ambition to support future
trainee pathways within the organisation,
including in smaller business units. The focus is
on providing selected individuals with
opportunities for long‑term development
rather than high intake volumes.

“
It is about 昀椀nding the right place for each
individual. When that succeeds, both the
person and the organisation grow.

In Greenland, relationships with customers
and the local community are particularly
close. People know each other – and that
creates a strong sense of responsibility.
